As soon as an item is identified as a hazardous waste,it must be processed immediately,bagged,and placed in the appropriate bin. Follow the steps listed on the"What To Do"poster for how to properly bag and label hazardous items: • Choose the appropriate sized bag for the waste. • If the item is leaking,add as many absorbent pads as necessary to ensure the leak is contained and there is no free liquid in the bag. Double bag items when free liquids are present. • If the contents of the bag cannot be visibly identified,label the bag with the product name using a Sharpie,for example"baby wash". • Place the waste in the bag and ensure the bag is sealed shut. • Never reopen a bag after it has been sealed. • Do not mix wastes. Only one UPC or one SKU per bag. • Follow directions given by the RF unit to place the item in the appropriate bin. Circle"Solid"or"Liquid"at the top of the label on the bin,check appropriate contents box in the center of the label,and then place the item in the bin.
