Upgradien Environmental C€ f'lsultants
AU6 1 0 2009
E ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
< PERMIT/SERVE
i CES
July 27, 2009
Mr. Michael Infurna
Environmental Health Department =sa
600 E. Main
,Stockton, CA 95201.
Subject: Valley Motors
---- -
Second Quarter 200 Repot
Dear Mr. Infurna:
Upgradient Environmental Consultants has prepared this letter report for the
second quarter of 2009 on behalf of Valley Motors in-Stockton, California.
In accordance with the new groundwater monitoring schedule in your directive of
March 9,2009, groundwater was not monitored in the.second,quarter. The next -
monitoring event will take place in early September.
The groundwater extraction pilot'test was initiated in May and is still in progress.
Approximately'10,000 gallons of groundwater were pumped and filtered through carbon
canisters. Samples of the treated water were collected at the beginning of the test and
after the first 5,000 gallon tank was filled, and the laboratory results were transmitted to
the City of Stockton Sanitation Department(DPA) for review and approval. Further
extraction was suspended until approval to dispose was granted. The DPW issued a
permit to dispose in mid-July, and Upgradient Environmental has'scheduled the disposal
for Monday,August 3. Extraction will resume when the storage tanks have been emptied,
and we anticipate pumping another 10,000 to 30,000 gallons before concluding the test.
-A-full-report of the test willbe prepared•after`the lasf batch-of waterhas`been disposed of,-
.:
which likely will not take place until additional samples are collected and theyesults have
been reviewed by the Sanitation Department. This could occur during the month of.
September or October.
