In order to track the progress of the program, we propose to collect a sample of the
,a aJ,dent, water monthly duringthe first year of operation and periodically thereafter.
Fhese samples will be analyzed for:TPHg/13TEX,PCE,and its daughter products TCE
and 1,2-DCA. We do not anticipate analyzing for gasoline oxygenates, because several
years of quarterly monitoring,as well as the data from the 2009 pumping test, prove tha',/ i
oxygenates are not present at this site.
6.0 SCHEDULE
The operation.proposed in section 4.0 implies that site visits will be made twice weekly;
once to start the extraction process and a second time to collect the effluent sample. The
following week;after the analytical results are received, the first trip will be to start the.
disposal process and a second trip will be made to re-start the extraction process when
disposal is complete. It.is anticipated that each batch of 10,000 gallons could be pumped
and disposed of every 10 days. Additional maintenance visits will;probably take place
occasionally to check on.pump operation, possible leaks in the system, etc.
Installation of the two extraction wells and the piping to the treatment compound will. be
the first step in the program, but because this will involve a substantial outside vendor
cost;it would not be implemented until presently outstanding invoices have been paid i
and an additional reimbursement.request can be processed by the Underground Storage
Tank Cleanup Fund.At this time,we cannot estimate when Valley Motors:will be able to
bring the account current. It is our understanding that Valley Motors wi1.1 authorize
Upgradient Environmental to move forward with the first task as soon as funding has
been secured.
Currently a permitao dispose of 30,000 gallons of water per month into the sewer system.
is in place. Final approval to dispose of treated water can resume after initial laboratory
results have been approved by MUD.
