EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Groundwater samples were collected from seven of the eight monitoring wells on June 14, 2005
One well was dry and could not be sampled As in past quarters, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in
the gasoline range and benzene and/or other aromatic compounds were detected in six of seven
samples In most wells, TPH-g concentrations declined by at least 50% since the wells were last
sampled in January The concentration of most volatile aromatic hydrocarbons (BTEX)remain in
the 0 5-3 part per billion range, except in VM-2 Concentrations in that well range from 4,120 ppb
(ethylbenzene)to 17,000 ppb (toluene)
The elevation of the water table was approximately 20 feet below sea level, which is 2 feet
shallower than when the site was monitored in the first quarter The groundwater flow direction
continues to be east
A thermal oxidation soil vapor extraction unit was mobilized to the site on February 3, 2005 The
underground vapor line to extraction well VT-1 was installed in March Testing of the system has
been delayed until a temporary propane gas tank can be mobilized to the site to supply
supplemental fuel to the extraction unit An application to install the tank was submitted to the
Stockton Fire Department in May, but the tank has not been mobilized as of this date
•
i
1
