EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Groundwater samples were collected from seven of the eight monitorin wells on June 16 2004
 g
One well was dry and could not be sampled Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in the gasoline range
and benzene and/or other aromatic compounds were detected in six of seven samples Except in
well VM-2, nearest the source of the contamination, concentrations were similar to or slightly lower
than those detected in January In VM-2, concentrations rose by 12-50 o
The elevation of the water table remainedat approximately 21 feet below sea level, essentially the
same as it was when the site was monitored in the fourth quarter of 2003 and the first quarter of
2004 The groundwater flow direction continues to be east
The Application to Construct and Operate a soil vapor extraction system for the remediation of soil
contamination at the site was approved by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District in
April An application was then submitted to the Stockton Building Department to install the
electrical control panel for the vapor extraction unit, and the control panel was installed in June
After final inspection by the Building Department, Pacific Gas & Electric will bring in power to the
site and additional construction work will be undertaken to complete the installation Upgradient
Environmental anticipates initial testing of the vapor extraction system in late July or August
•
1
