• EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Upgradient Environmental Consultants visited the Valley Motors dealership on November 20, 2002
to measure water depths and collect groundwater samples The depth to groundwater is about 1 foot
more than it was is September, and now averages about 36 feet below grade Depth measurements
indicate that groundwater currently flows to the east Historically, the flow direction has varied
from northeast to southeast
After the depth to groundwater was measured, the four monitoring wells were sampled with
disposable Teflon bailers and the samples were poured into 40-m1 vials The samples were
tMrisported to Sequoia Analytical and analyzed for TPH-gasoline using the DHS Luft method and
for BTEX using EPA method 8020
Hydrocarbon concentrations declined again in VM-1, VM-2, and VM-3 but rose in VM-4
Concentrations in all wells are now approximately 50% lower than they were one year ago,
although this varies somewhat from well to well In VM-1, this decline has been sustained and
appears to be a long-term tread In VM-3, concentrations have fluctuated from quarter to quarter
but have not shown a steady decline, while in VM-2 they have increased fairly consistently
Concentrations have also varied in VM-4, and the increase this quarter is probably not statistically
significant
Progress has been made in obtaining an Encroachment Permit from the City of Stockton for further
drilling The permit has been approved by City staff and forwarded to management We anticipate
that the permit will be issued by the third week of January, and that drilling could commence in
early to mid-February
1
