4
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Upgradient Environmental Consultants visited the Valley Motors dealerslup on September 11 to
measure water depths and collect groundwater samples The static water level began to decline
during the quarter, and is approximately 17 inches lower than in June The depth presently averages
about 35 feet below grade The groundwater flow direction is generally to the east-northeast
After the depth to groundwater was measured and the wells were purged of standing water, samples
were collected and transported to Excelchem Environmental Laboratory, where they were analyzed
for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in the gasoline range and for volatile aromatic hydrocarbons
(BTEX)
Overall, hydrocarbon concentrations are fairly stable, but concentrations continue to increase in
VM-2 and decrease in VM-1, indicating that the core of the contaminant plume is migrating east-
northeast in the predominant direction of groundwater flow
I
• 1
