EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Upgradient Environmental Consultants visited the Valley Motors dealership on September 27 to
measure water depths and collect groundwater samples The depth to groundwater is about 1 foot
more than it was in June, and now averages 314 feet below grade Depth measurements indicate
that groundwater currently flows to the southeast s
After measuring the depth to groundwater, the four monitoring wells were purged using the surge
and purge method and water samples were collected with disposable Teflon bailers, poured into 40-
ml vials and preserved for laboratory analysis The samples were analyzed for TPH-gasoline using
EPA method 602 and for BTEX using EPA method 8020
Hydrocarbon concentrations declined in some wells and rose in others The changes were slight in
VM-3 and VM-4, but were much larger in VM-1 and VM-2 The pattern was not consistent and is
not understood at this time Some declines may be due to the fact that a smaller volume of water
was purged this quarter, but this does not explain the increases in other wells
1
1
5
