SUMMARY
NOA ENVIRONMENTAL has been retained by Mrs. Norma Norton to prepare a
Surface/Subsurface Contamination Report for an approximate 38 acre parcel of land that has been
assigned Assessor's Parcel Number 229-170-83 and is a portion of the property with the address of
30327 East Highway 120, Escalon, San Joaquin County, California(subject property).
The purpose of this Surface/Subsurface Contamination Report is to identify to the extent feasible,
any potential source of surface or subsurface contamination caused by past or current land uses. Mrs.
Norton plans to split the 38 acre parcel into two 10 acre parcels and one 18 acre parcel. The fact that
Mrs.Norton plans to split the existing parcel into three parcels notwithstanding, it is the property
owner's intent to not convert the subject property from its current agricultural uses to other
uses.
Regional and local database lists were reviewed, and regional and local agencies were contacted in
order to determine if any recognized environmental conditions exist on the subject property. The
search radius for this investigation extended to adjoining properties, and to properties within one-
quarter(1/4)mile. As an adjunct to the database search, the subject property background and history
of past use were investigated. Physical characteristics including the topography, soil type, and
groundwater depth and flow direction beneath the subject property are discussed. Interviews were
conducted, and a site reconnaissance was completed. The data pertinent to this investigation can be
found in the body of this document. The primary investigators for the assessment were Crystal
Stech, and Robert Nicholson, R.E.A. # 1-01326.
1
