K L E I N F E L D E R
1 SUMMARY
Kleinfelder was retained to conduct a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for Mr.
George Tevelde, Jr. regarding the property located at 26250 Carter Road in Escalon, California.
In summary:
• The subject site consists of a dairy operation that has been in operation since February 1,
1994, and agricultural purposes. In addition, there is a residence near the northeast corner of
the subject site.
• The dairy operation facility stores 55-gallon drums, 5 and 10-gallon buckets, 40-pound bags
of chemicals, and other miscellaneous debris. There are multiple drains present on the site.
There are two waste water ponds located on the site. The residence on the subject site has an
active sewer system present to the south. There are multiple above ground storage tanks
present on the site.
• The dairy on site discharges waste water to surface impoundments. According to the
property owner, the surface impoundments were constructed with a 10 percent clay liner and
operate under waste discharge requirements (WDRs) issued by the Regional Water Quality
Control Board (RWQCB).
• Review of the regulatory agency database information and regulatory agency files indicated
that the subject is not listed on any of the databases. Derickson Trucking, located adjacent to
the west of the subject property is listed on the Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST)
database. This site is not anticipated to pose an adverse impact to the subject site for reasons
discussed in the body of this report. Escalon Feed and Supply, located adjacent to the east of
the subject site is listed on the under ground storage tank (UST) database. This site is not
likely to pose an adverse impact to the subject site for reasons discussed in the body of the
report, however, it is unknown if contamination has occurred.
Kleinfelder's findings are detailed in Chapter 7 of this report. This report is subject to the
limitations in Chapter 8. Any party other than Mr. George Tevelde, Jr. who would like to use
this report shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc. of such intended use by executing the "Application for
Authorization to Use" contained in Appendix F of this document.
20-4322-O1.P01/2019R547 Page I of 23
Copyright 1999,Kleinfelder,Inc.
