t
r
1
Soil Suitability Study(Mello-Questo)Con't.
SUMMARY
This study completes our analysis of the subdivision proposed for the designated site. As
indicated in the attached Soil Exploration Report, the terrain is not conducive to standard septic
system installation. The San Joaquin County Sewage Standards, dated 11/96 and the San Joaquin
Development Title are applicable to this development.
SITE BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The six parcels shown on the proposed Parcel Map represent the remainder of the section
once comprising the ranch utilized for grazing of cattle. The land presently is used for pasture
for cattle. The Agricultural Commissioner's Office reported on May 27, 1999 negative results
for a file check on chemical use by permit.
GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
Groundwater elevation as determined by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water
Conservation District Maps(1992) show 120 feet on lines of equal depth of water wells for this
area. An abandoned well was 90% filled previously and has been filled completely. The well
was probably a shallow well hand dug and used for cattle watering. An abandoned domestic well
was found on Parcel 5, which was approximately 90 feet deep. Environmental Health Division
required this well to be filled. The present domestic well on Parcel 5 was sampled and the
report from FGL is attached. The results are satisfactory.(DBCP and Nitrate)
SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTING
Attention is directed to the summary of the Feb. 5, 2000 field observations, contained in the
Soil Exploration Report.
SEPTIC REPAIRS OF RECORD
On Parcel 5, an existing leach line and one pit was installed in 2000 by Morton Drilling. A
check of the riles for septic repair on Cord Road was negative.
SEPTIC TANK AND LEACH FIELD
Developement of the on-site septic system is to conform to the Environmental Health
Division of the Public Health Services of San Joaquin County.
