(Cambria) prepared this document as the San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department(SJCEHD)requested in their September 15,2005 letter to Shell. In this letter, <br /> SJCEHD requested a work plan for installing the remediation system proposed in Cambria's <br /> September 9, 2005 Corrective Action Plan and Risk-Based Corrective Action Analysis. SJCEHD <br /> specifically requested that the work plan include installation details of proposed extraction wells, <br /> design details and diagrams for the proposed remediation system, plans for disposal of extracted <br /> groundwater,and a calculation of contaminant mass remaining in both soil and groundwater. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> Site Location and Description <br /> The site is an active Shell-branded service station located on the southwest corner of the Pacific <br /> Avenue and Porter Avenue intersection in a mixed commercial and residential area of Stockton, <br /> California (Figure 1). The site layout includes three existing fuel underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs),four dispensers, a service station building, and a former UST complex (Figure 2). <br /> Previous Work <br /> Cambria <br /> Environmental 1990 Soil Borings: During March 1990, Aegis Environmental Consultants (Aegis) of Rosevi e, <br /> Technology,Inc. California drilled 14 soil borings (B-1 through B-14) near the former (then existing) and current <br /> (then proposed)UST locations. The highest petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations were detected <br /> 5900 Hollis Street <br /> Suite A in a soil boring at the southwest corner of the former UST location.
