C A M B R I A
SITE BACKGROUND
Site Description: The subject site is located on the southwest comer of the intersection of
Pacific Avenue and Porter Avenue in Stockton, California (Figures 1 and 2). The service
station layout consists of three underground gasoline storage tanks, two product islands, and a
station kiosk. Previous investigative activities are documented in the February 28, 1998
Response Letter/Work Plan prepared by Enviros, Inc.
WORK PLAN
Technical Rationale for Proposed Scope of Work
• Groundwater flow direction has predominantly been to the southeast at this site.
• The lateral extent of hydrocarbons in groundwater at this site has not been defined
downgradient of the site.
• • Cambria proposes installation of four groundwater monitoring wells to assess the
downgradient extent of hydrocarbons and MTBE in groundwater.
• The vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons and MTBE has not been delineated
onsite. Previous soil samples collected from borings drilled on site suggest hydrocarbons
may be present beneath the site 70 feet below grade (fbg).
• Cambria proposes drilling two deep soil borings onsite to a minimum depth of 70 fbg to
assess the vertical extent of hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site.
Work Tasks
Permits: An appropriate permit for drilling will be obtained from SJCPHS/EHD. Cambria
will obtain access agreements from private property owners for two of the proposed well
locations. Cambria will obtain an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton for the
two wells proposed on Pacific Avenue.
Health and Safety Plan: A site-specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared for field
• work.
0854 3
