Schneider PERMIT/SERVICES
Subject: Addendum
Preliminary Subsurface Investigation/Tank Closure Report
Shell Service Station
6131 Pacific Avenue
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Schneider
Per your request fer additional comments regarding the above
referenced site, Aegis Environmental Consultants Inc. (Aegis)
offers the following addendum to the above referenced report.
i
o The product lines at the site were precision tested annually
since 1986. The product lines tested "tight" in all cases.
The cause of soil contamination found in the native soils
beneath the product lines at the site is unknown. A possible
cause for the contamination may be the accumulative effect
of overfill of vehicles by customers.
c
o As stated- in the above referenced report excavation of soils
beneath the product lines to a depth of three feet below
grade will occur for the installation of the horizontal
piping. During the excavation, where structurally feasible,
every attempt will be made to excavate to clean.
o The proposed pilot test of th_- vapor extraction system will
include the estimation of Vie vertical and horizontal
influence o.1: the var r extraction system. If data collected
during the test indicates the existing proposed system is
insufficient to solve the problem then a third vapor
extraction well will be proposed at a location that the data
indicates will best solve the problem.
GEOLOGISTS ENGINEERS GROUND WATER SCIENTISTS
