CAMBRIA
detected in well MW-12 at respective concentrations of 39 and 10 ppb 1,2-DCA was detected in
samples collected from wells MW4, MW-12, and MW-13 at concentrations ranging from 15 to
53 ppb
The groundwater analytical data are summarized in the well concentrations table in Blaine's
report (Appendix C) Benzene and MTBE results are presented on Figure 3 The certified
analytical report is also included in Blaine's report (Appendix C)
CONCLUSIONS
Cambria installed one shallow offsite well (MW-12) in the parking lot east of the site and one
deep onsite well (MW-13) Soil results indicate that subsurface soil to the east of the existing
UST complex is not impacted by TPHg,BTEX, or fuel oxygenates
The highest concentrations of gasoline constituents in groundwater occur in samples collected
from well VEW-2 located in the former UST pit Groundwater analytical results indicate that
gasoline constituents are defined by onsite wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-5 (except for a
• low benzene concentration in upgradient well MW-5), and low concentrations of MTBE and
oxygenates are present in wells east of the existing USTs The TPHg concentrations in samples
collected from wells MW-6 and MW-8 through MW-1I do not match the laboratories gasoline
standard and are likely due to the presence of PCE in these wells
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Continue quarterly monitoring in shallow and deep zones
• Discontinue sampling wells MW-6, MW-7, and MW-9 through MW-11 Cambria first
proposed these sampling reductions in our First Quarter 2003 Groundwater Monitoring
Report and Sample Frequency Reduction Request dated July 1, 2003 Since then, four
additional groundwater sampling events have occurred Because well MW-8 contains
se,veral compounds including low concentiations of INITBE, Combria withdraws our request
to discontinue sampling MW-8 at this time We would like to implement these reductions
beginning with the second quarter 2004 event and will verbally notify SCJEHD before
sampling
• Cambria will proceed with the approved dual phase and soil vapor extraction test in wells
VEW-1 and VEW-2 to reduce source concentrations in the former UST area
0954 7
