C A M B R I A <br /> J AN 0 8 2003 <br /> ENVIRONMENT HEALTH January 6, 2003 <br /> Ms Lori Duncan PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re Site Investigation and Third Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Shell-branded Service Station <br /> 6131 Pacific Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> SAP Code 136149 <br /> Incident No 98996189 <br /> SJCEHD Site Code 1223 <br /> Dear Ms Duncan <br /> Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc (Cambria) prepared this report on behalf of Equtlon <br /> Enterprises LLC dba Shell Oil Products US (Shell) to document the recent site investigation <br /> activities at the above referenced site The purpose of the investigation was to further assess the <br /> extent of petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) in soil and <br /> groundwater beneath the site Cambria followed the scope of work presented in our January 31, <br /> 2000 Response Letter/Work Plan, which was approved in San Joaquin County Environmental <br /> Health Department (SJCEHD) correspondence dated March 30, 2000 and September 13, 2001 <br /> SJCEHD September 16, 1999 correspondence initiated the investigation, and the work was <br /> performed in accordance with SJCEHD and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board(RWQCB) guidelines <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> Site Description The subject site is an active Shell-branded service station located on the <br /> southwest corner of the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Porter Avenue in a mixed commercial <br /> and residential area of Stockton, California (Figure 1) The site layout includes three existing <br /> fuel underground storage tanks (USTs), four dispensers, a service station building, and a former <br /> Oakland CA US 1 complex (Figure 2) <br /> San Ramon, CA <br /> Sonoma, CA <br /> Previous Investigations During March 1990, Aegis Environmental Consultants (Aegis) of <br /> Cambria Roseville, California drilled fourteen soil borings near the former (then existing) and current <br /> Environmental (then proposed) UST locations The highest concentrations were from a soil boring at the <br /> Technology,Inc southwest corner of the former UST location Maximum concentrations were 17,000 parts per <br /> 0rkms Street million (ppm) low/medium boiling point hydrocarbons quantitated against a gasoline standard <br /> P 0 Box 259 <br /> Sonoma CA 95476 <br /> Tel(707)935-4850 <br /> Fax(707)935-6649 <br />
