A E G I S E N V I R O N M E N T A <br /> 1050 Melody Lane, Suite 160, Roseville, CA 95678 + 916. 782-2110/91 KI9',Nfo ,* C g1 7WM30 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> December 10, 1991 PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Mr Steve Schneider <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 445 North San Joaquin Street, Unit IV <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Subject Vapor Extraction Plot Test for: <br /> Shell Service Station (VI/IC No 204-7524-0104) <br /> 6131 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Schneider <br /> Aegis Environmental, Inc (Aegis), is pleased to submit the required information for the <br /> vapor extraction pilot test at the Shell Oil Company site located in Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1 of Attachment 1) <br /> S <br /> The pilot test will provide Aegis with information to be included in, and influence the <br /> feasibility evaluation for remediation alternatives presented in a "Problem Assessment <br /> Report" once the vertical and horizontal extent of soil and groundwater contamination has <br /> been defined In operating the unit for approximately 45 days, Aegis is able to monitor <br /> the radius of influence, airflow, air stream concentrations, subsurface characteristics, <br /> maintenance requirements, alternative energy source requirements, capabilities of remote <br /> monitoring, and associated costs for all items involved <br /> DESCRIPTION <br /> In compliance with the permitting requirements of the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air <br /> Pollution Control District (SJVUAPCD), Aegis will be performing a vapor extraction pilot <br /> test beginning November 27, 1991, at the subject site Refer to Attachments 11 and III for <br /> the executed Application for Authority to Construct and Petition for Variance by the <br /> SJVUAPCD The test is proposed to run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and will <br /> continue through January 1992 The equipment to be used is a VR Systems, Inc (VR), <br /> BACT, MODEL V4 Soil Venting Engines, manufactured by VR of Anaheim, California This <br /> system has three main parts <br /> r� 1 Two (2) Ford industrial internal combustion engine, Model LSG-875, liquid <br /> cooled V8, 460 cubic inch displacement, 150 BHP <br /> 90-020M LTR <br />\ GEOLOGISTS • ENGINEERS • GROUND WATER SCIENTISTS <br />
