HEALTH
Environmental Health Division PERMIT/SERVICES
Post Office Box 2009
445 North San Joaquin Street
Stockton, California 95201
Re ADDENDUM TO SITE ASSESSMENT REPORT, 4 JANUARY 1991
DISPOSITION OF SOIL CUTTINGS AND WELL DEVELOPMENT WATER
Shell Service Station (WIC #204-7525-0104)
6131 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr Schneider.
At your request, Aegis Environmental, Inc (Aegis) is providing this addendum to the Site
Assessment Report prepared by Aegis, dated 4 January 1991 The purpose of this
addendum is to address the disposition of soil cuttings related to borings drilled on site
and water related to the development of the on-site ground water monitoring wells
On 12 and 13 July 1990, a total of five (5) borings were drilled at the subject site The
borings were completed as monitoring wells 1, 2 and 3 and vapor extraction wells 1 and
2 During drilling, approximately 8 yds3 of drill cuttings were daylighted The cuttings
were placed on, and covered by plastic (visquene) in order to inhibit uncontrolled
aeration
Analytical results of the sod samples collected during drilling indicated that the soils would
be appropriately disposed of at a Class 2 Landfill It was suspected that these results
may not have been representative of the stockpiled soil cuttings, and a subsequent
samplinq proqram was performed The results of the subsequent sampling indicated that
the sods were low-level, petroleum impacted materials and were therefore suitable for
disposal at a Class 3 Landfill facility Copies of the subsequent analytical results are
attached
On 20 September 1990, the drill cuttings were trucked to the West Contra Costa Sanitary
Landfill Copies of the bill-of-lading, gate fee receipt and waste profile form are attached
90-020H LTR
GEOLOGISTS - ENGINEERS • GROUND WATER SCIENTISTS
