enviros. <br /> Fourth Quarter Sampling <br /> Monitoring Wells MW-1 through MW-3 were sampled and analyzed for Total Purgeable <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPPH) according to EPA Method 8015 (Modified), benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) according to EPA Method 8020, and methyl- <br /> tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) according to EPA Method 8020 Additionally, a duplicate <br /> sample and an equipment blank were prepared and analyzed for quality control purposes <br /> Field monitoring data and this quarter's chemical analytical data for TPPH, BTEX, and <br /> MTBE are summarized in Table 1 Blaine's quarterly ground water monitoring report is <br /> presented in Appendix A <br /> Site monitoring and sampling will continue according to the established schedule <br /> Response to December 20, 1996 SJCPHS Letter <br /> This letter noted that analysis for third quarter ground water samples from Wells MW-1 and <br /> MW-2 was performed outside of the 14 day holding time The laboratory narrative <br /> provided at the end of Sequoia Analytical's report explains that analysis for these samples <br /> was initially performed within the holding period, and that additional analyses were <br /> required for confirmation of results <br /> As requested, surface seals will be checked on all wells during the next sampling event <br />. Additionally, the skimmer will be removed from Well MW-3 and placed into Well RW-IA <br /> at the 2575 Country Club Avenue site during the next sampling event <br /> Thank you for your assistance in sending the December 20, 1996 letters to the adjacent <br /> property owners requesting that they grant access to Shell for investigation activities We <br /> have since received a signed agreement from Bonifacio Luna The right of entry agreement <br /> has also been sent to the second property owners, Donald and Vicky lten for their <br /> concurrence To date, we have not received further word from Ron Slate regarding the <br /> property to the south <br /> Upon receipt of all necessary right of entries, SJCPHS will be contacted to confirm the <br /> final scope of drilling activities prior to permitting and performing the work <br /> 96374 2 <br />
