GROUNDWATER INFORMATION
NLS§2.1, SSS§ 4.1. There has been groundwater monitoring over the entire North Tracy/Holly
Commerce Center that has determined the water table to be relatively shallow in this locale.
Siegfried has completed an entire topographical survey of the project, which has been correlated
with the measured water table elevations.
NLS§2.2,3.1, SSS§ 2.1,4.2. Since the surrounding properties have been farmed for a number of
decades, this has been one source to have contributed an increase in nitrate concentration within the
water table and upper groundwater aquifers. The adjacent City of Tracy Wastewater Treatment
Plant may be another.
A water table sample was retrieved from a boring near the center of the subject property. Test
results reveal a nitrate as nitrate concentration of 109 ppm, which is 2.4x the drinking water
Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for nitrate. Total Alkalinity is a very low 15 mg/L and
discussed below. The electrical conductivity is also a low 4.74 mmhos/cm and the pH is alkaline at
7.7. The Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) is the measurement of the ammonium and organic
nitrogen fractions, and was also found to be a low concentration. The following Table summarizes
the test results:
TABLE 3
WATER TABLE (WT) UNDERLYING EFFLUENT DISPOSAL AREA:
ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF TESTED CONSTITUENTS
SAMPLE ID NITRATE TOTAL TOTAL TOTAL Ec pH
K.IELDAHL NITROGEN ALKALINITY
NITROGEN(TKN)
BDG A&B WT 109 mg/L 5.6 mg/L 114.6 mg/L 15.0 mg/L 4.74 mmhos/cm 7.7
NLS§2.3, SSS§4.3, 4.4, 4.5,4.6. There are no on-site domestic or irrigation wells on the subject
LParcebe sampled to quantify nitrate concentrations from the lower aquifers. Domestic water
City of Tracy will be supplied for this project.
Page -4-
Chesney Consulting
