Ric Notini
Page 2
Thank you for providing tide table information for the date of sampling. Please continue
efforts to measure the groundwater elevation in the monitoring wells within one hour
monitoring intervals to provide reliable data for the determination of groundwater
gradient.
Please prepare a site map locating former tanks and include all monitoring wells for
submittal with the next quarterly report.
Since EDB and organic lead contamination have not been detected in samples and total
Iead levels detected were below "Maximum Contaminant Levels!', continued analysis of
these contaminants will be unnecessary at this time. However, prior to site certification
analysis of total lead may be required.
PHS/EHD agrees that additional quarterly monitoring will provide necessary information
for the preparation of a problem assessment report and for the purpose of evaluating
remedial alternatives. Two quarters of monitoring should provide adequate confirmation
of the extent of groundwater contamination and verify gradient. Please submit a problem
assessment report proposing soil and groundwater remedial alternatives by
November 15, 1992. Also, note that residual soil contamination remains a source of
continued contamination of groundwater.
Please continue to notify PHS/EHD 48 hour prior to sampling. If you have any questions
or comments, please contact Mary Meays, REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health O ce
• z
ti3O
urie A.
