Quality AssuranceiQuality Control (QA/QC) procedures were followed throughout the construction process. All augers were decontaminated prior to drilling each well by steam cleaning. The sampling device was decontaminated prior to each use by washing in an F Alconox solution followed by a clean water rinse. The brass tube liners for .. the sampler were similarly cleaned prior to drilling. The well casing, screen, etc. was cleaned and decontaminated prior to use by steam cleaning. Soil cuttings from each boring were placed in Ial eled 55-gailon drums and stored on site. Development was accomplished by hand bailing approximately 18 gallons or 12 to 13 well volumes from each ' $ well. The bailing was continued until the parameters of temperature. pH, and conductivity stabilized, and the silt content of the discharge water 1A markedly declined. All samples (water and soil) provided to the laboratory were labeled and sealed individually in zip-lock type plastic bags then placed on ice in a coolei.
