KLEINFELDER
sample be collected for coliform analysis,- Coliform samples can be easily contaminated so
a blank coliform.sample also was collected and submitted to the laboratory for analysis.
Petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were not detected in the three ground water samples.
Analytical results are summarized on Table 3. Coliform was detected'at 1600 most
probable number (MPN)/100 ml, and this is.a Iikely indication that the sewer line.is
leaking.
4.4 GROUNDWATER GRADIENT
Ground water elevations measured at approximately 8:30 a.m. on March 16 ranged from
83.43 feet to 85.03 feet relative to the assumed datum(Table 4). Plate 5 shows the ground
water elevation contours. The ground water gradient at that time was.1.15 percent to.the
southwest. Because of the proximity of the site to th Stockton Deep Water Channel, it is
probable that ground water gradient may be affected by tidal fluctuations. High tide on :
March 16 was at 8:30 a.m. Water levels were measured again on'April 5 at 12:30 at low
tide(Plate 6). The gradient was 09 percent to the southwest at that time. A tide table for
Marsh and April 1990 is shown on Plate?.
FIS-90-101 7
Copyright 1990 Kleinfelder, Inc.
