t <br /> , y <br /> n <br /> 1 <br /> r' <br /> SECTION 5 <br /> S uMMARY OF FINDINGS <br /> Two former tank sites, located at 1515 and 1325 West Weber Avenue, <br /> have reported releases of petroleum products into the surrounding <br /> soils and ground water. Characterization of the conditions at 1515 <br /> West Weber has demonstrated that a release of gasoline (most likely <br /> unleaded) and BTE&X compounds has occurred at some time in the <br /> past. Due to the presence of a shallow water table, the release has <br /> primarily affected the ground water. Affected soils between the <br /> bottom of the former tank and the water table surface have been <br /> removed and replaced with clean soils. <br /> The volume of affected soils below the ground water surface at the <br /> 1515 West Weber site is estimated to be approximately 150 cubic yards, <br /> assuming 100 ppm TFH as gasoline is the limiting criterion. Within <br /> volume,that concentrations found t <br /> o 5-foot <br /> thick layer of clayey soils that sbounded byhe water table <br /> and the clay-sand contact. <br /> The extent and volume of affected soil and ground water at 1325 West <br /> ! Weber is presently unknown. Laboratory reports indicate maximum <br /> concentrations in the range of 1,000 ppm for soils and 100 ppm for <br /> ground water. The petroleum products discovered were primarily <br /> gasoline and BTE&X, although some diesel fuel was also detected. <br /> The 1325 West Weber site is located approximately 500 feet east of the <br /> 1515 West Weber site, and for the purpose of this report, ERM-West <br /> assumes the two sites have a similar geologic and hydrologic setting. <br /> Additionally, both sites are the result of leaking underground storage <br /> tanks that primarily released gasoline. <br /> 5-1 <br />
