Pmferz ed Alternatives
The results of the preliminary engineering evaluation identified
preferred alternatives for the remediation of both hydrocarbon-
containing soils and ground water at the site. For site soils, the two
preferred alternatives are on-site aeration and biotreatment. For
biotreatment, the options include both landfarming and composting
J.-.ch X.-19. Based on information currently available, the X-19 option
is the most cost-effective alternative.
For ground water, the preferred alternatives are ground water
extraction and treatment (via air strippers or activated carbon),
biotreatment, and chemical oxidation. The biotreatment and
chemical oxidation alternatives include both in situ and ex situ
options.
As mentioned previously, the 1325 West Weber site has not been fully
characterized. Due to limited field information, these remedial
alternatives for the site will be more closely evaluated after field
studies are completed at 1325 West Weber. The final remedial
alternatives for both soil and ground water will then be determined.
6-9
