ERM-West, Inc <br /> 1777 Botelho Drive <br /> , <br /> 29 December 1993 l`f'1' 1; ; 1 i C kv�260 <br /> ���_+�, „ 144 t Creek, CA 94596 <br /> (510)946-0455 <br /> 9 C,F'o 3 1 P,71 2: 519 946-9968(Fax) <br /> Mr Terry Schull <br /> San Joaquin Valley <br /> Unified Air Pollution Control District <br /> 4230 Kiernan Avenue, #130 <br /> Modesto, CA 95356 <br /> Subject Soil Aeration Project at 1325 & 1515 ERM <br /> W Weber Avenue, Stockton, <br /> California <br /> Dear Mr Schull <br /> On behalf of Catellus Development Corporation, ERM West <br /> Inc (ERM) is writing this letter to convey the information on daily aeration <br /> log and sampling results, per your permit requirement, for the petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon impacted soil at the subject facility <br /> The soil excavation and onsite stockpiling was completed on 25 October 1993, <br /> the soil aeration began on the same day The aeration pile was covered with 6 <br /> mil polyethylene sheeting at all times, except when adding or removing soil <br /> The aeration pile was secured with a padlocked fence when the site was <br /> unattended The soil excavated from 1515 W Weber Avenue (referred to as <br /> Site 1) was an estimated volume of 444 cubic yards and the soil excavated <br /> from 1325 W Weber Avenue (referred to as Site 2) was an estimated volume <br /> of 1467 cubic yards The approximate dimensions of the soil aeration pile are <br /> shown in Figure 1 <br /> A John Deere 75HP tractor with disc-tilling attachment was used to aerate the <br /> soil for a total of 16 days The rate of soil tilling for Site 1 and Site 2 was, 60 <br /> cubic yards per day and 600 cubic yards per day, respectively Table-1 below <br /> shows the specific dates on which soil aeration by tilling was undertaken at <br /> the site The soil aeration task was shared by ERM and by Sunriver <br /> Engineering of Brentwood, California from 25 October 1993 to 15 November <br /> 1993 <br /> A Member of the Environmental <br /> Resources Management Group <br />
