SECTION 1
INTRODUCTION
1
This document is a Preliminary Assessment Report (PAR) for three
underground fuel storage tank sites located on the property at the
western extreme of West Weber Avenue in Stockton, California
(Figure 1-1). This report summarizes the findings of previous
' reports prepared for the propertyl. This PAR is being submitted to
the Environmental Health Division (EHD) of San Joaquin County
Public Health Services by ERM-West, Inc. (ERM-West) on behalf of
Catellus Development Corporation (Catellus), as agreed upon in a
letter from EHD dated November 23, 1992. This document has been
prepared in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines,
specifically the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for
Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank
Sites, dated August 10, 1990
This PAR addresses three specific site locations at the following
addresses on the West Weber property (Figure 1-2).
0 15 .5 West Weber Avenue: Former Tank Site #1
• 1325 West Weber Avenue. At Former Tank Sites #1 and #2, a release of petroleum
products from an underground storage tank has been detected, and
the extent of constituents in soil and ground water has been
characterized at each site. No impacts to sods or ground water were
associated with the tank removal at Site #3.
' The purpose of this report is to summarize the site characterization
and investigation activities undertaken to date for the three tank
removals, and to provide an evaluation of remedial alternatives for
the saes where releases have occurred (Former Tank Sites #1
and #2).
