30 SUMMARY OF PREVIOUS A CTI VITIES AT TANK SITE 02 <br /> ' This section summarizes all activities completed at Former Tank Site #2, <br /> located at 1325 West Weber Avenue <br /> 3.1 SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES <br /> ' The followin activities were completed at Tank Site #2 <br /> g P <br /> • Removal of a 500-gallon fuel UST (1991), <br /> • Installation of soil borings and four monitoring wells for site <br />' characterization (1992), <br /> • Excavation of hydrocarbon-containing soils (1993), <br /> a Further characterization of the residual TPH levels within the <br /> excavations (1994), <br /> • Quarterly monitoring of ground water chemical quality during the <br /> period April 1992 to July 1999, and <br /> • Ground water remediation consisting of ground water extraction <br /> (three events during the period 1993 through 1994) and the installation <br /> of ORC socks <br /> A description of each of these activities is provided in the following <br /> sections Figures iIIustrating site features, sample and well locations, and <br /> presenting site data have been excerpted from previous reports and are <br /> included in Appendix B Table 3 presents all soil sampling data generated <br /> during Site #2 investigations Tables 6 and 7 present all ground water <br /> data generated from Site #2 monitoring wells <br /> 3.2 TANK REMOVAL <br /> A 500-gallon fuel UST was removed from Former Tank Site #2 in August <br /> 1991 Visual observations during removal indicated that the tank was <br /> severely corroded and contained several holes Analysis of soil and <br /> ground water samples collected from the tank excavation indicated that <br /> gasoline and gasoline components were present in site soils <br /> ERN] 14 CATELLUS/2996 10-10/13/99 <br />
