Environmental
Mr Harlin Knoll Resources
27 April 1998 Management
Page 5
1
was detected in the MW-5 sample, this detection (0 130 mg/1) also
' represents one of the lowest historical benzene detections of any of the
samples collected from this well during the quarterly monitoring
program (Table 1) Historical trend analysis indicates that TPH and
' BTEX concentrations have decreased significantly over time in ground
water samples collected from Former Tank Site #1
' General Water Quality_Results. As presented in Table 3, the general
water quality parameter measurements do not exhibit notable trends at
this time, as evidenced by comparison of post-ORC to baseline (October
' 1996) conditions The increase in heterotrophic plate count in the samples
collected from MW-4 and MW-5 indicates that the presence of the ORC
' socks is enhancing microbial activity
Former Tank Site #2
' TPH and BTEX Results. TPH and BTEX detections in ground water
samples collected from the Former Tank Site #2 during the December
1997 monitoring event are also comparable to those associated with
historical sampling events TPH(g) was detected in the MW-1A and
MW-2A samples, the highest detection (0 44 mg/1) was associated with
' MW-2A TPH(d) was not detected in any of the three wells sampled
during this event BTEX compounds were detected in the MW-1A and
' -2A samples Historical trend analysis indicates that TPH and BTEX
concentrations have decreased significantly over time in ground water
samples collected from Former Tank Site #1
' General Water Quality Results. As presented in Table 4, the general
water quality parameter measurements do not exhibit notable trends at
' this time, as evidenced by comparison of post-ORC to baseline (October
1996) conditions The increase in heterotrophic plate count in the
samples collected from MW-1A and MW-2A indicates that the presence
' of the ORC socks is enhancing microbial activity
' CONCLUSIONS
' As 1n past sampling events, TPH as gasoline and BTEX compounds were
detected in ground water samples collected at the Catellus properties
located at 1325 and 1515 West Weber Avenue The magnitudes of the
' TPH and BTEX detections are comparable to those of recent historical
I
