Mr Harlin Knoll Environmental
Resources
Page4 1998 Management
Pa4
• 1,2,5-Trimethylbenzene
' Samples from four wells (MW-4, MW-5, MW-1A, and MW-2A) were also
analyzed for heterotrophic plate counts The water quality and plate
' count results were analyzed for comparison to the baseline conditions
established during the third quarter 1996 monitoring event, they will not
be included during every future monitoring event
' The analyses were performed by following the flllaboratories
' • Quanterra, Inc (Sacramento, California) - TPH(g), TPH(d), BTEX,
nitrate, chloride, pH, conductivity, manganese,
' 1,2,5-Trimethylbenzene, and 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene,
• Aquatic Biological Sciences (South Burlington, Vermont) - plate
' counts,
• Quanterra (City of Industry, California) - dissolved methane and
dissolved CO2, and
• CLS Labs (Rancho Cordova, California) - ferrous and ferric iron
' Laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody forms for this sampling
event are included in Attachment B
' TPH as gasoline and BTEX detections in ground water samples collected
from Former Tank Sites #1 and #2 are provided in Tables 1 and 2,
' respectively General water quality parameter measurements are
presented in Tables 3 and 4 for the Former Tank Sites #1 and #2,
respectively These results are summarized below for each site
' Former Tank Site #1
' TPH and BTEX Results. TPH and BTEX detections in ground water
samples collected from the Former Tank Site #1 during the December
1997 monitoring event are comparable to those associated with historical
' sampling events TPH(g) was only detected in the MW-5 sample, this
detection (0 19 mg/1) represents the lowest detection recorded for
samples historically collected from this well during the quarterly
monitoring program (Table 1) TPH(d) was not detected in any of the
,. three wells sampled during this event BTEX compounds were generally
not detected during this monitoring event The one exception, benzene,
