Essentially the soil encountered to a depth of 3 feet on the site
was composed of sand with silt and is similar to the descriptions of the shallow soil in the San
Joaquin Soil Survey. A shallow percolation test was completed within the 3-foot deep boring to
measure the percolation rate of the soil. Plate 1 identifies the location of the soil boring and
percolation test.
[inchThe percolation test boring was drilled utilizing a 4-inch hand auger drill. The casing
es
the percolation test was 2-inch diameter PVC pipe with an open end on the top and
Perforations were made on approximately the last 12 inches of the casing. Two (2)
f"pea gravel"was placed in the bottom of the hole, the casing was installed, and one(1)
"pea gravel"was backfilled in the annular space. Th -
24-hours prior to the test May 23, 2002
A one(1)hour percolation test was conducted May 24,2002 on the subject parcel. The
percolation test was conducted in accordance with the requirements of San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division. The last %2 hour of the percolation tests were observed by Larry
Godinho, Environmental Health Specialist of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Division.
