This letter is a summary of site conditions and decisions
made during that meeting.
1399 E. Yosemite, Manteca
The vapor extraction system was operated continuously until
August 4 , 1995, at which time it was placed in a pulse mode and
is operated once a month for a short period of time to determine
if there are any remaining volatiles. Groundwater sample results
have been non detect since July 1995 . It was verbally reported
that the sample results from February 1995, including analysis
for MTBE was non detect . One more sampling event will occur in
May 1995 . A work plan will be submitted to this agency for two
slant soil borings to be drilled below the former tank area and
soil samples to be collected to confirm that the soil has been
remediated. Following these activities a closure report will be
prepared.
14800 Hwy 99, Manteca
The vapor and groundwater extraction system is still operating.
Groundwater sample results have been non detect since August
1995, except for EDC. The groundwater samples being collected
from monitoring wells MW1-MW4 are from the groundwater extraction
piping spigots . In order to verify that the sample results are
representative of the groundwater and have not been aerated by
pumping, the remediation system will be turned off one day prior
to the sampling event . Monitoring wells MW1-MW4 will be purged
and sampled directly from the well casing head in the same manner
as all other wells at the site. After the sampling event the
remediation system will be placed back into operation.
The drinking water well at this site was sampled in September
1994 and EDC was detected at . 6 parts per billion which is above
the California maximum contaminant level (MCL) for drinking
water. In addition monitoring wells MW1-MW4 have evidenced EDC
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
