Delta vwl
Environmental
Consultants, Inc. z..- a..
11030 White Rock Road, Suite 110
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 c
916 638-2085 =
October 21, 1988
San Joaquin Local Health Department
1601 East Hazelton
. Stockton, CA 95205
Attention: Ms. Laurie Cotulla
Subject: Domestic Well Ground Water Analysis
Moore Petroleum Inc.
5491 "F" Street
Banta, CA 95304
Delta Project No. 40-88-481
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
This letter is in regard to our recent conversation (10/19/88) regarding
possible impact of a domestic water well adjacent to the subject site by
dissolved petroleum constituents. Earth Treatment Systems Environmental
(ETS) stated in their report, dated October 7, 1988, and titled "Prelimi-
nary Site Assessment, 5491 "F" Street, Banta, CA 95304" that
"The nearest domestic well, ias of the last sampling date, has possibly
been impacted as indicated by lab results showing less than 50 ppm
TPH."
This statement is incorrect. As can be seen on the laboratory report
(enclosed),_ the detection limit for TPH for this sample was 0.05 ppm (50
ppb) and the concentration detected in the samples was <0.05 ppm (50 ppb).
Therefore, TPH was not detected in the sample. Also shown on the
laboratory report: benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene (BTEX)--as
well as 1,2-dichloroethane (EDC) and ethylene dibromide (EDB)--were
not detected in the water sample'from this well.
Based on the laboratory report of the analysis of this sample, there is no
evidence indicating the presence of dissolved hydrocarbons in this well.
The location of the well in question is shown on the enclosed map.
As we discussed, Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc. (Delta) is in the
process of preparing work plans/reports for the subject site as well as
two additional Moore Petroleum sites located in Manteca, California
(14800 Frontage Road and 1399 East Yosemite Avenue). These work
plans/reports will detail previous work performed by ETS at these sites,
as well as proposed work at all three sites that will complete the
Preliminary Hydrogeologic Assessments for these sites. It is anticipated
that these work plans/reports will be completed in approximately three
weeks.
Practical Solutions to Environmental Concerns
