Box 2009 T
Stockton, California 95201, f` ;
Subject: ' = Workplan for Ozone Sparging
Moore Petroleum"Bulk Plant `
5491 F Street, Banta, California-
Apex Project#ERA02.004
Dear Mr. Henderson:
Apex Envirotech,.Inc. (Apex);has been`authorized,by Moore Petroleum.(Moore) to provide this ;
report,proposing the addition of ozone sparging to the reme'diation',s stem at the subject site
(Figure 1 and 2)., Groundwater monitoring and sample collection has been performed quarterly
since the installation of the current soil vapor• extraction (SVE) remediation systema In addition,
the domestic well at 5451_ F.Street was sampled monthly during the quarter and the.results of
those events are included: in this report. Based •on the'results'`obtained-during quarterly
monitoring, the groundwater petroleum constituent concentrations,liave not declined,appreciably
with the operation of the system and concentrations are now,apparent at well.MW-12 (Table 1).
Therefore, ozone sparging is proposed• to oxidiz111e.-the :petroleum' constituents at the. soil
groundwater interface around the north; east and south of the building, with'a focus on reducing
petroleum constituent concentrations'::along` he..6th Street side.'This would reverse the
concentration gradient from well MW-12 back to the site:by reducing the mass of.petroleum-
constituents on site.
This report is based in part, on information obtained by Apex from Moore, and is subject to,
modification as newly acquired information m' ay.
BACKGROUND J
Apex began,work on this projecfwith the groundwater monitoring conducted on January. 14,.^ " 1
1994. Prior to Apex, work.conducted'at the site included subsurface investigatioris and
1.groundwater monitoring by Earth Treatment Systems, Iric.,.of Manteca,California;Delta -
