(Apex)has been authorized by Moore Petroleum (Moore)to provide this <br /> workplan for the installation of a groundwater monitoring well (MW-18) at the subject site. This <br /> workplan was prepared in response to a telephone conversation with Mr. Nuel Henderson of the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division(SJCEHD) regarding outstanding issues for <br /> case closure on April 20,2009. . <br /> This report is based,in part, on information obtained by Apex from Moore, and is subject to <br /> modification as newly acquired informationmay warrant. <br /> F <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> January 14, 1994—Apex began work on this`project with groundwater monitoring. Prior to <br /> Apex, work conducted at the site included subsurface investigations and groundwater monitoring <br /> by Earth Treatment Systems, Inc. of Manteca, California; Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc. <br /> of.Rancho Cordova, California;Nations Groundwater Associates of Sacramento,,California; and <br /> Aegis Environmental;Inc. (Aegis) of Roseville, California. Site details may:be found in Aegis's <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report, dated April 18, 1991, which was submitted to <br /> Moore. r <br /> May 5, 1995 —A soil vapor.extraction(SVE) system consisting of an R.S.I. SAVE® system was <br /> installed at the subject site. The SVE system-was installed per San Joaquin Valley Unified Air <br /> Pollution Control District(District)permit conditions. The SVE system consisted of an internal <br /> combustion engine with catalytic converters mounted on the exhaust. The SVE system was <br /> configured to allow soil vapors to be extracted from either vapor well VEW-1 and/or monitoring <br />
