(Apex)has been authorized by Moore Petroleum (Moore) to provide this letter responding to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD) dated April 11, 2007 (Appendix A)requesting definition of total petroleum hydrocarbons motor oil (TPHmo) at the subject site. Site vicinity maps and boring logs are provided in the attached figures and tables. This letter is based in part, on information obtained by Apex from Moore, and is subject to modification as newly acquired information may warrant. CPT-1 and CPT-2 boring results On November 9, 2005, Apex personnel supervised the advancement of two cone penetration tests (CPT-1 and CPT-2) to 80 feet below ground surface (bgs),performed by Gregg Drilling Company of Martinez, California(well drillers report included as Appendix B). Five groundwater samples collected from CPT-1, and four groundwater samples collected from CPT-2 were submitted to a state certified laboratory for analysis. Laboratory data from all groundwater samples collected from CPT-1 and CPT-2 are included as Table 2. Laboratory results from CPT-1 reported TPHmo at 49,000 micrograms per liter(gg/L) in a sample collected at 78 feet bgs. Laboratory results from CPT-2 reported TPHmo at 3,600, 3,200, 1,600, and 5,600 at depths of 28, 42, 57, and 78 feet below ground surface(bgs),respectively. ADDITIONAL SAMPLING Apex proposes to confirm the presence of TPHmo at 80 feet bgs by sampling a nearby domestic well (Rhodes Water) for TPHmo,total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel
