A groundwater contour map of the shallow water-bearing zone on December 12, 1998, is shown on Figure 3. { Groundwater Sarripling and Analysis On December 12, 1998, Apex personnel collected groundwater samples from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-5 in accordance to the Apex SOP included as Appendix A. The samples were submitted,under chain-of-custody documentation,to Sparger Technology of Sacramento, California, a state-certified analytical laboratory. The samples were analyzed for concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons, as gasoline(TPHg) and diesel (TPHd),by Modified EPA Method 8015;benzene, toluene,ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl t-butyl ether(MTBE)by EPA Method 8020. The analytical results are summarized in Table 2. f The laboratory analytical reports and chain-of-custody forth are included in Appendix B. A map depicting the distribution of TPHg,TPHd,benzene, and MTBE in groundwater on December 12, 1998 is shown on Figure 4. RECOMMENDATIONS Based on the soil and groundwater analytical results from the samples taken after the UST i removal process and the groundwater samples taken for this report,Apex recommends performing a subsurface investigation to further evaluate the extent of petroleum impacted soil " and groundwater. Apex proposes to install seven Geoprobes at the site, as documented in Tank Closure Report and Recommendations Report dated December 23, 1998.
