Third Quarter 2001 Groundwater Monitoring Report
Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant,5491 F Street,Banta,Califomia
Page 4
GROUNDWATER MONITORING
Groundwater Levels
On July 17, 2001, Apex personnel collected water-level measurements from eleven groundwater
monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4A, MW-5, MW-7 through MW-12), and one
vapor extraction well (VEW-2). All groundwater elevations were measured to the nearest 0.01
foot, referenced to the surveyed top-of-casing elevations, and conducted according to the Apex
standard operating procedures (SOP) included as Appendix A. Groundwater level measurements
collected by Apex are summarized in Table 1 and field data sheets are included as Appendix B.
Figure 3 is a groundwater contour map of the shallow water-bearing zone on July 17, 2001 and
shows groundwater flow beneath the subject site to be towards the northeast at an approximate
hydraulic gradient of 0.0036 ft/ft.
Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
Apex personnel collected groundwater samples from thirteen wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-3,
MW-4A, MW-5, MW-7 through MW-12), VEW-2, and the off-site domestic well according to
the Apex SOP included in Appendix A. The samples were submitted, under chain-of-custody, to
California Laboratory Services (CLS) of Rancho Cordova, California and analyzed for:
Anal sis Abbreviation Designation USEPA Method No.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons TPHg
as Gasoline
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons TPHd
as Diesel I Aromatic 8015 Modified
Total Petroleum HydrocarbonsKerosene Hydrocarbons
as Kerosene
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons Motor Oil
as Motor Oil
Benzene Aromatic
Toluene BTEX Volatile 8020
Eth (benzene Organics
Xylenes Total
Tertiary Butyl Alcohol TBA
Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether MTBE Fuel
Di-isopropyl Ether DIPE Oxygenates
Ethyl TertiaryButyl Ether ETBE $260
Tertiary Amyl Methyl Ether TAME
Methanol ENaphthaleneLL
ethanol
Naphthalene
