Third Quarter 21105 Groundwater Monitoring and Remediation Status Report f , Moore Petroleum Bulk Plant,5441 F Street,Banta,California Page 7 REMEDIATION SYSTEM SUMMARY Soil Vapor Extraction System System description: Petroleum vapors are extracted from the subsurface through three monitoring/vapor wells (VEW- 3/MW-8, MW-1, and VEW-4/MW-7) and two vapor extraction wells (VEW-1 and VEW-2). The wells are manifolded together with PVC piping in the remediation compound before connecting to the extraction system. The vapor extraction system is a 57'horsepower regenerative blower manufactured by Rotron-Ametek®Model number EN6F72L. Activated carbon adsorption abates the volatile organic compounds extracted by the SVE system. The system is operating under the authority of the SJVAPCD, Authority to Construct#N 560-8-2. System startup date: June 17, 2002 Current system mode: Carbon abatement (September 29,',2004) Active extraction wells: VEW-2, VEW-3, VEW-4 Inactive extraction wells/reason: MW-1, VEW-1.system optimization, zero concentrations Status of system operation during reporting period/ reasons for downtime: The SVE system did not operate continuously during this reporting period. Apex personnel shut the system off for the period in-between site visits to allow for rebound to occur, due to the lack of volatile organic vapors being recovered from the SVE system. According to hour meter readings recorded in the field the SVE system operated for a total of 100 days between June 9, and August 15, 2005.
