PG&E STk; . hIKTG . ID :2099421460 DEC 03 '93 15 :39 No . 014 P .02
Michael McNulty
Transformer#7--Mfg. by G.E., 115 kVA, Single Phase, Serial Number 6354423.
High Side voltage: 2400 volts.
Low Side voltage_ 120-240 volts.
We tried to track purchase records on these seven transformers through G.E. and
Westinghouse, but were unsuccessful. We then began to research all of our records relating
to service to the Union Ice facility located at 1320 West Weber Avenue in Stockton_
The results of our research is as follows:
• Service to the Union Ice Facility at 1320 W.Weber Ave. was first established and placed
in operation prior to 1927. Service to Union Ice was provided at 2200 volts.
• Facilities installed by Western States Gas & Electric Co. in 1927 to meet increased load
requirements at the Union Ice service consisted of: 3-150 kVA 1100012200 volt
transformers on concrete base with a fence enclosure; removal of existing#4 WP 2200
volt service conductor and installation of 260' of 342 WP 2200V Service conductors over
and along side of building to Union Ice Co,'s distribution bank. This increase in service
capability was made operational on October 4, 1927.
PG&E presently provides service to Union Ice at two points on the property located at 1320
W. Weber in Stockton. In each case ownership of facilities changes at the point where PG&E
revenue meters and customer owned main disconnects and main distribution panels are
located. All equipment used to distribute power within the buildings, and between buildings, is
owned by Union Ice.
PG&E has no record of purchase of the seven transformers listed above. Since our rebords
indicate that Union Ice service was originally provided at 2200 volts, and since all of the
transformers In question have primary (High Side)voltage ratings in the 2200 volt range, we
believe that these transformers are part of the original'in-plant"distribution system owned
and operated by Union Ice.
If you have additional questions regarding this matter, please call me at 942-1408.
Sincerely,
.4"'4'rje'
Steven L.
