INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. Nick Patel, Advanced GeoEnvironrnental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Limited Site Assessment Work Plan far the property located at 3416 Farmington Road,
Stockton,California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1.A plan of the site is illustrated
on Figure 2.
This work plan was prepared as required for the procurement of a soil boring permit and to satisfy
requirements of the Underground Injection Control Programs (U1C) as administered by the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). The requirements of the UIC
program were outlined in the SJCEHD letter dated 22 October 2004.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The subject property, located at 3416 Farmington Road at the interchange of Highway 99 South
outside the city limits of Stockton, California, is situated in an area of residential use. The subject
property is a motel that is currently in operation except for the rooms connected to the septic system
in question. (Figure 1).
2.1. SEPTIC SYSTEM INSPECTION
The SJCEHD identified the site as a clandestine drug laboratory where hazardous materials were
possibly disposed into the septic system. On 07 September 2004, a sample of the contents of the
septic tank was analyzed. The analytical results reported detections of hazardous materials and or
wastes in the septic tank.Toluene was detected above laboratory reporting limits. The water sample
collected was not analyzed for methamphetamine.
SJCEHD has requested that further investigation of the septic system be performed to evaluate if
there is a threat to drinking water. The three septic system permits on file with SJCEHD that pertain
to the site address are dated as early as 1956;the permit details do not include the installation record
of the septic system in question. The septic system was excavated to reveal the construction. The
known details from visual inspection include a 1,250 to 1,500 gallon septic tank with a single, solid
6-inch concrete line approximately 40-feet in length emptying into a 36-inch seepage pit. The exact
depth of the seepage pit is not known at this time, but approximated at 25 feet.
On 26 October 2004, an AGE representative treated and removed the contents of the septic tank and
stored them on site for disposal. On 11 November 2004, Clean Harbors San Jose transferred and
transported the stored waste to the Clean Harbors Facility for proper disposal. The waste was
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
