s
SAN JOAQUiN COUNTY:'COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT'S
1860 EAST HAZELTON AVENUE
STOCKTON,CALIFORNIA 95205
TELEPHONE (209) 468-3913 Far.£° 9
§ April 23, 1990
Ms. ry Sul an
San Joaq i.r< ounty Planning Division
1810 East a to
Avenue
Stockton A 9 - `f-
Re: ""
N1Pt90-97(D
eNuit)
Impact Area: Stockton Metropolitan Airport
Dear Ms. Sullivan:
Thank you for referring this application for a Minor Subdivision Application for a parcel split to
the Airport Land Use Commission.
The proposal is located on the west side of Priest Road, 950 feet south of Wyman Road in the
community of French Camp. This is approximately 9250 Feet southwest of the main runway at
Stockton Metropolitan Airport, in the Horizontal Imaginary Surface. The proposal is not within
a high noise area. The proposal is near an overflight area used by Military training aircraft
leaving runway 11/29 at Stockton Metropolitan Airport.
The Airport Land Use Plan places restrictions on any development in this area. According to
the ALUP:
The standards regarding non-reflective materials on roof surfaces, radio transmissions that could
interfere with navigational or communication equipment, and visual distractions to pilots apply to
the Horizontal Imaginary surface.
Recommendation
Staff finds that the proposal is conditionally in conformance with the Airport land Use Plan.
Due to the projects' proximity to the airport, staff request an Avigation Easement in favor of the
County of San Joaquin. Additionally, a noise disclosure statement is to be signed by property
owners and future tenants and filed at the County Courthouse. r
The applicant should be made aware that Sharpe Army Depot has a runway due south of the
property. Current helicopter flight operations do not overfly the property, however the field is
capable and certified to handle large fixed wing aircraft. Should there be a mission change then
the property may be subject to frequent overflights at low altitude.
Staff recommends that Sharpe Army Depot be sent a referral on this and any other
development that is within a two mile radius of the runway at Sharpe Army Airfield.
Should you have any questions in this matter, please contact Mr. Robert van Rooyen of my staff.
Sincerely you ,
PETER D. VERDOORN
Executive Director
PDV:RVR
• COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN • CITIES OF STOCKTON, LODI, TRACY, MANTECA, ESCALON, RIPON •
