v .� ATTAC)(EVIENT A Specifications - Drilling - Two Dual-Sparging/Vapor Extraction Wells This document provides technical specifications for the above referenced project. CH2M HILL will act as ENGINEER and will contract with a drilling company (CONTRACTOR) to perform the work. The project area is a level area without buildings or pavement. The project area is surrounded by a fence with an entry gate approximately 20 feet wide. There is no water or electricity available at the property. Subsurface materials at the property consist of alluvial soil deposits. The upper 90 feet of soil beneath the property consists predominantly of cohesive fine silty sands and sandy silts. Groundwater is encountered approximately 70 to 75 feet below ground surface. General Description of Work The work to be performed by the CONTRACTOR includes but is not limited to drilling, installation, and development of two dual-sparging/vapor extraction wells. A schematic diagram of a dual-sparging/vapor extraction well is shown in Figure 1. The two boring locations will be located within 50 feet of one another. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all equipment and materials necessary for drilling, installation, and development of the wells. A hollow-stem auger drilling rig will be used for drilling and installing the wells; the CONTRACTOR may suggest alternative drilling techniques. The diameter of each boring shall be 12 inches. Within each boring, a sparging well constructed of 1-inch, Schedule 40 PVC shall be installed to 90 feet below ground surface and a vapor extraction well constructed of 2-inch, Schedule 40 PVC shall be installed to 65 feet below ground surface. The ENGINEER reserves the right to change well materials and drilling depths based on conditions encountered in the field.
