Unless specifically authorized elsewhere in this permit,survey work shall not be performed: <br /> A. On holidays or an afternoon proceeding a holiday. <br /> I <br /> B. Permittee shall furnish, place and maintain required signs. sa&ty equipment, traffic control, and warning <br /> devices in accordance with the manual of Traffic Controls published by the Department of Transportation. <br /> 3. All personnel shall wear hard hats and orange vests,shirts or jackets as appropriate- <br /> 4. Unless specifically authorized in this permit, markings within the right of way shall be temporary. Paint <br /> used for markings shall be water-soluble and other markers shall be removed upon completion of work. <br /> S. Any collected data requested by Caltrans shall be hmished to Caltrans without charge. <br /> 6. Vehicles necessary for work may be parked in State Highway right of way off paved shoulders. Auxiliary <br /> support and employee vehicles shall remain outside the right of way. <br /> 7. Permittee shall provide for the safe passage of pedestrians. <br /> g. THIS PERMIT AUTHORIZES WORK ON CONVENTIONAL HIGHWAYS ONLY. <br /> All work shall be performed in accordance with the current Departrn»nt of Transportation Standard Specifications and <br /> the Deparhnent of Transportation Encroachment Permit Utility Provision dated August 1998. <br /> All new utility installation shall be a minimum of 36" (0.91m) below final grade, or a minimum of 24" <br /> (0.61m, applies to drainage only), utilities use 17" (0.457m) below subgrade, which ever Is greater. <br /> High and low risk utilities shall be a minimum of 42" (1.07m) below final grade. Service oonnetions <br /> shall have a minimum cover of 30" (0.76m). <br /> All work shall be conducted in such a maturer that the excavation, excavated earth, materials and equipment <br /> will not cause any inconvenience to the highway traffic or to traffic entering the highway from any public or <br /> private approach. <br /> No earth or construction materials are to be dragged or scraped across the highway pavement. No excavated <br /> earth shall be placed or allowed to remain at a location where it can be tracked onto the highway traveled way <br /> or any public or private approach by the Permittee's construction equipment, or by traffic entering or leaving <br /> the highway traveled way. Any excavated earth or mud so tracked onto the highway pavement or public or <br /> private approach shall be immediately removed by time Permittee. <br /> The State of California, Department of Transportation makes no assurance or expressed warranty that the <br /> plana are complete or that the planned construction fits field conditions. Should additional work or <br /> modifications of the work be required in order to meet established Department Standards or in order to fit field <br /> conditions,the work shall be performed by Permittee as directed by the State's Inspector. <br /> The Permittee shall indemnify and save harmless the State of Califomia and all officers and employees thereof <br /> connected with the work or activity authorized by this permit, including but not limited to the Director and the <br /> 3 <br /> t <br />
