Permittee shall furnish, place and maintain required signs. sa&ty equipment, traffic control, and warning devices in accordance with the manual of Traffic Controls published by the Department of Transportation. 3. All personnel shall wear hard hats and orange vests,shirts or jackets as appropriate- 4. Unless specifically authorized in this permit, markings within the right of way shall be temporary. Paint used for markings shall be water-soluble and other markers shall be removed upon completion of work. S. Any collected data requested by Caltrans shall be hmished to Caltrans without charge. 6. Vehicles necessary for work may be parked in State Highway right of way off paved shoulders. Auxiliary support and employee vehicles shall remain outside the right of way. 7. Permittee shall provide for the safe passage of pedestrians. g. THIS PERMIT AUTHORIZES WORK ON CONVENTIONAL HIGHWAYS ONLY. All work shall be performed in accordance with the current Departrn»nt of Transportation Standard Specifications and the Deparhnent of Transportation Encroachment Permit Utility Provision dated August 1998. All new utility installation shall be a minimum of 36" (0.91m) below final grade, or a minimum of 24" (0.61m, applies to drainage only), utilities use 17" (0.457m) below subgrade, which ever Is greater. High and low risk utilities shall be a minimum of 42" (1.07m) below final grade. Service oonnetions shall have a minimum cover of 30" (0.76m). All work shall be conducted in such a maturer that the excavation, excavated earth, materials and equipment will not cause any inconvenience to the highway traffic or to traffic entering the highway from any public or private approach. No earth or construction materials are to be dragged or scraped across the highway pavement. No excavated earth shall be placed or allowed to remain at a location where it can be tracked onto the highway traveled way or any public or private approach by the Permittee's construction equipment, or by traffic entering or leaving the highway traveled way. Any excavated earth or mud so tracked onto the highway pavement or public or private approach shall be immediately removed by time Permittee. The State of California, Department of Transportation makes no assurance or expressed warranty that the plana are complete or that the planned construction fits field conditions. Should additional work or modifications of the work be required in order to meet established Department Standards or in order to fit field conditions,the work shall be performed by Permittee as directed by the State's Inspector. The Permittee shall indemnify and save harmless the State of Califomia and all officers and employees thereof connected with the work or activity authorized by this permit, including but not limited to the Director and the 3 t
