Mr. Michael Collins
Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
PO Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Disco property remediation project meeting
Dear Michael:
We'appreciate the time you spent with us last week reviewing Del Monte's plans for'
addressing hydrocarbon concentrations at the former Discoproperty.' We look forward to
working closely with you as the first phase of our remedial project gets underway.
To summarize our discussion,we will be initiating an air sparging and soil vapor extraction
program near MW-1, and monitoring the progress of this approach with:
• Quarterly groundwater samples
• Down-hole dissolved oxygen measurements in a nested piezometer near the
sparging well
- - -,---
Soil gas concentrations in piezometers and vapor extraction wells above the
sparging wells
We will also be monitoring the dissolved oxygen concentration in the quarterly samples
collected from the next down-gradient well, MW-2.
Based on past quarterly data indicating a nearly flat groundwater gradient and no evidence of
plume migration, we are not planning to install additional monitoring wells on the Disco
pro e . Evaluation of remediation progress and the progression toward site closure will be
bas samples taken from Iexisting monitoring wells and the piezometers to be installed
near the air sparging wells.
fi BAtlflko4\pmW,"8Wdway,P.O.
