We stated that Del Monte had not submitted a work plan for approval that <br /> included air sparge or vapor extraction and that we had not formally agreed with either <br /> USTCF or PHS/EHD on the installation of such system. <br /> In the July 1, 1999 meeting, PHS/EHD requested that Del Monte commit to a specific <br /> and more extensive "site characterization" work plan. We stated our commitment to <br /> strongly consider your recommendations for "site characterization" and analysis. We j <br /> have done so and we expect to develop a work plan with CH2MHILL for submittal in <br /> August that will meet your recommendations as expressed in the July 7" letter. <br /> Del Monte did restate its continuing interest in the use of Intrinsic Bioremediation and <br /> Natural Attenuation concepts at the Disco site. No formal or specific conversation <br /> regarding utilization of "active engineered remediation" occurred in the July I" <br /> I meeting. <br /> In closing, thank you for sending to our attention the "Recommendations for Preliminary <br /> l Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites".
