i
I '
DeI Monte Stockton Property Assessment and Remediation RFP Section I, Page 1
I
I. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND
The Stockton Plant#33 (Plant) ceased operations on May 31, 2001 as part of the master
production consolidation program. The Plant consists of 446,000 square feet of building area
made up of six main buildings and 29.7 acres of land made up of various tracks of land
separated by neighborhood streets. One portion of the property, known as the Disco site, is to
undergo environmental remediation for a gasoline plume resulting from a leaking
underground storage tank.
The Plant is located at 2716 E. Miner Avenue in the eastern portion of the City of Stockton,
about 1.5 miles east of the central business district. The immediate neighborhood is estimated
to be 95% developed and is characterized by light industrial, manufacturing, various service-
oriented businesses, and scattered residential development. The Plant is accessed between
Interstate 5 and State Route 99 at the Filbert Street exit from the cross-town freeway.
Also included in this section are a photograph of the Stockton#33 plant and a site plan. The
numbers on the plan note the seven separate areas that our Property Management Department j
would like as separate headings in the Phase I Site Assessment. Refer to the Scope of
Services for that task for further explanation.
i I
I
I
I
i
