I'll fax the ozone info this am. and just to bring you up to speed, yesterday in phone conversations with Keith Sheets and Marty Hartzell I was asked to approve a change in construction for MW-11d. The request was to remove the 'conductor casing' from the drill. I had some concerns about the closeness of this well to the known hits of 1,2 DCA ,north across Cal Trans Hwy 4 (CPT 6,7, & 8)and possibly drill THRU an area with large concentrations, and moving MW-lid possibly,OUT of the center of the plume and closer to the gw hits in CPT 12 & 11. After some talk with Margaret and Marty, the County can't enforce the use of a conductor casing and what may be attained by- not using it may override the costs, time, and precautions of putting it in. So I asked Keith to put the request and rationale in writing and submit it to me for evaluation. The approval will be made on condition that confirmation hits in MW-11d after it's installed may/will constitute the need for further vertical investigation (another well) since the vertical extent will not be defined. I'll 'cc' you on any written approval out of my office. If Ch2M Hill gets going on this quickly, Keith has advised me drilling MW-11d WITHOUT the conductor casing could start on Dec 6 and be done by Dec 7 (ok with me) . .
