c <br /> 1 <br /> APTICLE al - TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br /> A. Office and Telephone. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish and maintain a field <br /> o Sce mated on the site as directed by the OWNER. The CONTRACTOR shall <br /> ( pay for and maintain a telephone in the field office from the start of the <br /> job until completion. The telephone shall be "made available for local <br /> calls by Subcontractors performing Work at the site. <br /> r B. Tem orar Sheds . The CONTRACTOR shall build his own sheds in locations <br /> sate s actory to the OWNER for the storage of materials as required. <br /> C. Tem orar Nater Service. The CONTRACTOR may make temporary connections to <br /> the existing-water services , .if available , and as needed for construction <br /> water required for his Work . The OWNER will pay for water used provided <br /> reasonable care is exe rt-i se d In its use. Potable water for drinking <br /> purposes shall be furnished by the CONTRACTORS. <br /> D. Watctnan. As the OWNER may determine from time to time , a guard force may <br /> Fe'-provided at the construction site . However, whether or not a guard <br /> force is employed , the CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for any and all <br /> loss of , or damage to , his materials , tools , and equipment. <br /> E. Protection. The CONTRACTOR shall provide and maintain temporary barriers , <br /> fighting , and enclosures as required by applicable safety standards and <br /> local ordinances. Weather-tight enclosures shall be provided for the <br /> protection of finished and unfinished Work as required and for the <br /> { protection of any of the OWNER 's goods or equipment relating to the Work. <br /> The barriers and enclosures shall be constructed to protect the public and <br /> employees of the OWNER from injury or damage. <br /> F. Guards and Ladders. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish and maintain runways , <br /> adders , guards , etc. , serving his Work' area. They shall comply with <br /> applicable safety standards under the Occupational Safety and Health Act <br /> of 1970 and the regulations issued thereunder, and with all other laws , <br /> ordinances , rules , regulations , and orders of all federal , state ,' and <br /> l local authorities having jurisdiction. <br /> G. Temporary Toilet Facilities . At or before the beginning of any <br /> construction Work the CONTRACTOR shall provide temporary sanitary <br /> E conveniences for use of his workmen and those of his Subcontractors. The <br /> CONTRACTOR shall maintain temporary facilities i n a sanitary condition <br /> until the completion of the Work. The sanitary facilities shall be <br /> { provided in a manner acceptable to the OWNER and the governing board of <br /> health. <br /> H. Temporary Light and Power. The CONTRACTOR shall make temporary <br /> connections as directed to the existing electric service, if available , to <br /> serve the needs of himself and his Subcontractors. . The OWNER will pay for <br /> electric power used provided reasonable care is exercised in its use. <br /> Power requirements other than those available from existing electrical <br /> service shall be furnished by the CONTRACTOR.
