®' Engineers
Plonners
Economists
Sclentlsts
August 30, 1994
BAE31604.AS.T8
Mr. Michael Collins
- Environmental Health Division
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr. Collins:
Subject: Quarterly and Annual Groundwater Quality Monitoring Results and
{ Remediation Status for Del Monte's Disco Property at 110 North Filbert
.,. Street, Stockton, California
This report presents the analytical results for groundwater monitoring wells and a summary
of remediation activity at the above referenced site. Monitoring wells were sampled on
Ju120, 1994 as part of the quarterly and annual groundwater quality monitoring program.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Del Monte's Plant 33 Disco Property is located near the intersection of Myrtle Street and
Filbert Street in Stockton, California. Three 10,000-gallon underground gasoline tanks
were used by a previous owner of the property and were removed in 1985. A soil and
groundwater investigation conducted by CH2M HILL in 1991 revealed that gasoline
constituents from the tanks are present in the soil and shallow groundwater. The results of
the soil and groundwater investigation are presented in CH2M HILL's "Remedial
Investigation/Feasibility Study, Disco Tank Site, Stockton, California (February 1992)"
(RIMS).
The groundwater investigation included the installation of eight monitoring wells (Figure 1)
and revealed that gasoline constituents had migrated from the underground tanks into the
shallow groundwater. The shallow groundwater surface was found to exist at
approximately 75 feet below ground surface within fine sandy silts, clayey silts and sand.
Groundwater was observed to flow northwesterly at a gradient between 0.0005 and 0.0013.
CH2M HILL 1711 Broadway,R0.Box 72681,Ookland,CA 94604-2681 510251-2426 Fox 510 893-8205
